Abengoa Brasil gets ready for one more pioneer step in Latin America
Surveyors, department heads, supervisors, technicians and safety engineers formed the first group of Abengoa Brasil to attend training sessions and to learn about making the passage of high tension cables both over and under previously energized lines. The team participated, in may this year, of "Technical Meeting of Passages of Energized Transmission Lines – Safety Issues", which took place at Campo Largo City, in Paraná, southern region of the country.
With both practical and theoretical activities, specialized guests invited for the meeting were able to show which needs are required for this kind of operation, to be carried on with safety for employees and the system itself.

Among all Abengoa societies in Latin America, Abengoa Brasil is a pioneer in qualifying personnel and acquiring specific equipment for this activity, which requires a lot of knowledge and technical skills.
Nicolás Gencarelli, manager of transmission lines, says how important it is to dominate the technique so to enlarge company's autonomy. "One same line may have many crossing points, as in the case of LT Curitiba – Bateias, in Paraná State, where 12 passages have been made. On the next construction, our personnel will execute this activity, partially accompanied by third party companies´ technicians and afterwords definitely assuming this delicate step.
Construction director, Gabriel Zarpellon, says that this measure follows the market trend of no longer disconnecting operating lines in order to energize new ones. Besides optimizing costs for the construction company, it will allow Abengoa Brasil to go after new business, for it will be able to offer this service to other companies from the Group or from third parties, by taking under consideration that today there is only a few companies able to perform this work in our country.
